QUICK PROJECT OVERVIEW:
PortlandTV is the broadcasting division of Northern and Shell. Northern and Shell has over 30 years in the media business in England. This client wanted to marry their expertise in TELEVISION programming with ONLINE COMMUNITIES and create a dedicated TV show for gaming and gamers which allowed their online participants to qualify for play on the TV Show through their successes in league/tournament play. This was a pay-to-play premium service supported by substantial promotion and advertising through the various Northern and Shell media properties to garner HIGH VISIBILITY within the online gaming community in the UK at large. CompeteSoft designed, developed and put into production the Xleague.TV site, developed using the .NET platform. The application lets the user create profiles, the creation of clubs and teams participating in leagues and tournaments, along with a scheme of awards to players based on their activity on the site. Leagues and tournaments also allow the definition of trophies and prizes for the teams that excel in their performance.
